FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What is a home inspection? A: A home inspection is a visual examination of the home's major structure, systems, and components that are visible and safely accessible. The scope of the inspection is performed in accordance with the state (NC or SC) as well as the InterNACHI Standards of Practice. A home inspection is most often performed during a real estate transaction, but can also be performed for builder warranty inspections, annual check ups, or simply for peace of mind.

Q: Why should I get a home inspection? A: Buying a home is typically the biggest investment you will ever make, so it's important to get a home inspection where your inspector will thoroughly examine the property’s condition, identifying defects and safety issues. These findings will help you make an informed decision prior to purchase, and often serves as a basis for negotiations with the home seller. Home inspections also educate current and future homeowners on maintenance practices and provide detailed information on items specfic to the property.

Q: How much does a home inspection cost? A: Our home inspections start at $320 and pricing is based on the square footage and age of the property. Q: How long does a home inspection take? A: Our thorough inspections usually last between 3 - 4 hours depending on the age, condition, and size of the home. Adding ancillary services such as radon testing, mold/air testing, pool/spa inspections, or outbuilding inspections, will increase that time.

Q: Do I need to be present for the home inspection? A: We highly encourge you and your real estate agent to attend the inspection so we can discuss our findings and answer any questions you have. If you can't attend, our report will contain numerous photos and information, and we can discuss any questions or concerns over the phone with you.
